Newsletter 70 – Dragons in the Deep

Happy Monday all!

It's the first Monday of October, and we're still running a little behind on this month's Adventure.

The perils of fatherhood take a lot of time and energy to traverse, and they have not been particularly kind to either my sleep or my productivity. But we're still here, we're still working, and we're still making progress.

Adventure

For the time being, September's Adventure, The Putrid Mire, remains our featured and free adventure.

Venture into the soggy Temple of Mirevarax, a forgotten relic of the Cult of the Chromatic Queen. Trudge through its piranha-infested waters, uncover the remnants of an ancient temple, and face the powerful Moldraltha, the Mire King. The adventure is a continuation of the Return of the Dragon Queen campaign and is designed as a high-level one-shot for 3–6 level 17–19 adventurers.

We're going to keep The Putrid Mire available while we finish October's Adventure rather than rush something out before it's ready.

Behind the Scenes

October's Adventure is still very much in the works, and it's coming along very nicely. These things just take time to finish, especially when you're trying to balance adventure writing with the various other adventures life has decided to throw at you.

In the meantime, we've been working with some awesome artists to bring more of our setting and stories to life.

First, we've been working with Vikroart on a larger-scale dragon project. We're taking the Chromatic Dragons and reinventing them for our setting, giving these iconic creatures our own visual identity.

We've completed the artwork for the Green Dragon, and you can now see it in our Gallery.

We've also been working with Lucas Martins on character art for the characters featured throughout our stories and campaign.

All of this artwork can be found in the Gallery on our website, and we'll have more to share as these projects continue.

Vignettes

Speaking of stories, Theta Campaign – Return of the Dragon Queen – Session 40 went live last Friday.

The party has awakened after the events of their previous battle and prepares for their next mission, descending from Sky's Reach toward an ancient temple hidden beneath the forest canopy. What begins as a raid against the Cult of the Chromatic Queen quickly becomes a brutal assault, with Beezul, Prinze, and Alonzo tearing through the temple's defenders.

But their charge through the temple comes to an abrupt halt when they reach the bottom of a massive staircase.

Something is waiting for them in the darkness.

And it has teeth.

We're hoping to pick up the pace on writing these stories again soon. We've got plenty more of the campaign to tell, but as always, it comes down to finding the time to write them while also making sure we're getting our Adventures finished and out to you.

Saturday Morning Coffee

We didn't stream Saturday Morning Coffee this past weekend.

We're hoping to pick it back up this coming Saturday, but we'll be playing things a little bit by ear for the foreseeable future. Keep an eye on our Discord for updates about whether or not we'll be streaming.

When we do stream, Saturday Morning Coffee goes live Saturday mornings at 9:00 AM CST on Twitch.

We're no longer actively looking for artists at the moment. We've been fortunate enough to find several artists to work with, and our current commission slate is full. We're incredibly excited to see where all of these projects go.

That's all we have for this week! Have a great week, and, as always...

Keep Your Weeks Adventurous!
